The Helen Keller Festival Board is already at work on the 2013 festival events. We are excited about the 35th Annual Helen Keller Festival. For over three decades the Helen Keller Festival has been a part of the Shoals community. It is with continued support of local businesses and individuals that we are able to put on a quality event that brings such value and economic impact to our community. The Alabama Mountain Lakes Tourist Association named the 2006 Helen Keller Festival “Event of the Year”, and the 2011 Festival was named a “Top 20” event by the Southeastern Tourism Society.

The Festival annually draws thousands of visitors to the Shoals area and generates economic impact across the Quad Cities. Over 50,000 people attended the 2009 festival.

The festival also brings national attention to the successes of people with physical impairments and gives local 3rd through 6th graders an opportunity to learn about those with impairments through the Keller Kids educational program.

We are very proud of these accomplishments and are glad to volunteer our time and resources to make the festival a success. We are thankful for the many local and national sponsors who have enthusiastically supported the festival and always invite others to join the festival family. We, on the Helen Keller Festival Board, hope that we can continue to provide a festival that our community can enjoy and will be proud of. In order for us to continue to make this event a success, we depend on many local and national businesses to provide financial assistance through sponsorships.

Please let us know if you have any questions or comments about the 2013 festival. Also, remember the Helen Keller Festival is a 501 (c) 3 tax- deductible organization. On behalf of the Helen Keller Festival Board, thank you in advance for your help and support in 2013.
